If I Could Take Back One Vote - Or Two - Or Three...

Anyone following the Gracedale saga knows that County Council has reversed their decisions time and time again. That course of action is a clear indication that instead of considering and reviewing what comes before them, they simply react with anticipated responses.

Recently it was reported that CC voted 8-0 in favor of an matter relating to farmland preservation, only to reverse itself yet again by a 6-1 vote. And to make matters worst, once again the incompetent executive John Stoffa was quoted in ET saying that the the councils vote means nothing. Stoffa believes that the grant is irreversible. How quickly he forgets that all his erroneous beliefs went out the window with the force of ONE in his face relating to to the Gracedale initiative.

We must admit that at one time we fell for the lure that Stoffa was a smart, or better said an intelligent man, but he continues to be his own worst nightmare, bewildering himself and continuously demonstrating imbecile thinking that leads us to the conclusion that he is in fact incompetent.

ET wrote that "the about face was surprising for most of council", WHAT!!! Who voted? Wasn't it council who cast the vote? Then unless they are much less than averagely smart, how can they be confounded by their own votes. And then Mrs. Thierry who we think is a nice lady but a poor excuse for a councilperson goes on record saying that she did not know enough about it when she voted, and if she could take back a vote that would be it. Whaaattt!!!!! When you know something you say you know something, and when you don't know you say that you don't know, request time for research and review, and if not granted you abstain for the obvious reasons. It's really not rocket science, just common sense.

County Council, or any other governing body for that matter is to look forward, considering all possibilities, analyzing data presented, and after all is carefully considered, they must decide on what is genuinely best for ALL of their constituents. When will they finally get it?

  1. Who would vote against farmland preservation..who could be that short sighted? Seriously, I want to know so that I never ever vote for that person.

  2. This was actually a vote for farmland preservation and against wasting money to buy swampland for more than it is worth.

  3. This is without a doubt the worst combination of government in Northampton County history. John Stoffa is woefully over his head in this job. he treats it as a part-time job to feed his pocket. the Coounty Council lives in terror of Ron Angle. As a result, we are governed like a third world nation.

Please elect competent and honest people, not these silly clowns that currently hold office.

I have been told at the State County Commissioner meetings, Northampton County is the laughing stock of the state.
    God Save Us!

  4. Each County Council Meeting provides the residents of the county more reason for concern.
Stoffa continues to REFUSE to face the reality that he is no longer competent to be county ex and should step down NOW.
Mrs. Theirry while a nice lady is also not suitable to be a councilperson. If you do not know the facts about an issue DO NOT VOTE ON IT---YOUR VOTE AFFECTS PEOPLE!
I can understand why our county government is a laughing stock of the state- they've earned that title.
Let's vote out Dowd, Angle and put in people who will get the work done without creating havoc. Eventually we will have a gtroup that will serve the residents and not their own interests. Wouldn't that be a welcome change.

  5. I have seen these people in action. More citizens ought to go see the show.
Forget political parties,it is worth the price of admission to see these clowns operate(there are a few exceptions). But the ones that are named above are an insult to the County.
There is even a blogger to reports on the meetings always in favor of the clowns. He even believes that people are afraid of him.
Now,mix that into one big, stew pot and take a good look at the result!
That is why NORCO has to be the laughing stock of the State.

  6. People of Northampton County we need a CHANGE.
Between now and November look into these people that represent you , and look at the people that are running against then, and then make your choice come November.
    Thank You

  7. WE VOTED TO KEEP GRACEDALE AND THEY STILL WANT TO SELL IT OR DRIVE IT INTO THE GROUND FIRE ALL THESE BUMS

  8. Perhaps there may be a clever councilman or woman who will take the reins and deliver unto
the people that which they voted for.
They were elected to do the will of the people, and they are moving at a snail's pace.
They(stoffa and Angle) still have their blogger friend-who receives special treatment and information-to further rationalize their attempt to downsize or drag Gracedale into the ground.
ADVICE: OPEN THE DOORS OF GRACEDALE FOR THE MANY CITIZENS WHO ARE TRYING TO GET IN.
"LET THEM EAT CAKE." Remember how the French thought about her attitude.

  9. if stoffa is right and councils vote means nothing then why do we have or need council?

  10. We certainly do not need most of these people.
Where are they when the people speak?

  11. If you want to see an obvious reason Stoffa and Angle were pushing the Gracedale sale, read today's Easton Express. There is a story about how Stoffa and Abe Atiyeh are negotiating a 20 year lease for the drug addict lounge in west Easton.

The thing is, no one even knows what the thing will cost and Stoffa wanted to give Atiyeh a 20 year lease. No wonder he needed the money from Gracedale's sale. The money for the drug lounge is going to be mostly county tax dollars.

These guys are so crooked it is unbelievable. The true Stoffa keeps shinning through. He and Angle are two peas in a pod.

    Stay sharp Guardians!

  12. More publicity from the taxpayers who know what Stoffa is doing with Angle has to be presented to the voters at large.
They cannot get away with it.
Publicity will bring these two out of the closet and expose them as they hide behind their "outside political selves"
    Let's keep writing about them.
    Hey, Stoffa,get moving on Gracedale!

  13. Maybe if we are "well-behaved little guys," Santa will bring us a bottom feeding blogger to cover for us when we need it.
I wonder just how much he gets to sell his soul?
The blogger's stories are so stretched out that I'll bet that he believes his own crap.

  14. What soul? O'Hare's emotionally instability and destructive behavior have been present throughout his entire adult life. His flagrant dishonesty and lack of regard for other human beings is what led to him losing his law license and his position in the US Attorney's Office. Why is anyone surprised that he now lies for the likes of Stoffa and Angle, especially since he has been in league with them even before Stoffa first announced his candidacy for the County Executive office? All three of them are hopelessly corrupt and have been that way all along.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It is indeed sad. His late father was a respected Northampton County District Attorney and got Bernie a great job with the Federal government. Bernie blew it with his addictions and instability. His father ultimately disowned him and didn't want anything to do with him.

That is a very sad and hard thing for a father. Small wonder O'Hare is the way he is today. There is a great deal of hidden pain, rage and frustration pent up in Bernie.

  16. What I don't understand is if Bangor has filed papers and a court date is issued where is the docket number to prove it? I searched on http://ujsportal.pacourts.us. The only dockets that are listed for Ron Angle are these from a magisrates office: MJ-03205-NT-0000062-2011

Why can't your group research is political standings? List votes, suggestions, ideas that have reflected badly that Ron Angle made? I would personally would like to see his standings on views that concern the county. I don't care what he does in his personal life. I want to know what he does for me and the county. Show me how he voted on topics. Give me proof that he is the "devil". I know that he didn't want to keep Gracedale. I voted to keep it. I know he sat on 69 news the night of the election and said there is no money for Gracedale in escrow and the other man said theres 64 million and Ron kept saying no there's nothing. At the end of the interview he then admitted to 8 million in escrow. What else has Ron Angle done politically that I should be concerned about. I don't care that he left his dead uncle in the morgue for months. I don't care that he has family disfunctions. I want to know how his handling the post he was elected to run. Everyone has their issues. My family is not perfect. Some of which I wish wasn't family. All I'm asking is to prove your point. Give the voters a concrete reason.

  17. Dear Rev, Question for you. The devil leads us to temptation. God saves us from that because he delivers us from evil. So if you danced with the "devil" to help save the defencess residents of Gracedale wouldn't you be doing God's work. Not saying that you should sell your soul but like Moses freeing the Jews from the Eygptians. Why can't you use God's love to help your mission?

Your reasoning would allow for anyone who has a part time job breaking the law serve you in government. It would be in your reasoning for someone to bilk a person of money and their savings, in their personnal life to represent you. As long as they didn't get caught and made your version of the right decisions as your representative. It would be your reasoning to allow a person that lets say is a petty thief shoplifting from stores , and then when caught lead the police on a high speed chase in an effort to escape endangering innocent motorists represent you as long as they made the right choices representing you. It would be by your reasoning to allow someone that has a list of these daliances represent you in government. A list so long it would take to much space to type. And then there are the things a person like that has not been caught doing, things one could only imagine. I have trouble thinking that type of person could leave those behavior patterns at the door when representing me, you don't, that is why America is great. We all have the right to express our ideas. I chose to take into account how someone leads their private life when considering them for a vote. By your reasoning Adolph Hitler a charismatic leader who "might" have made "some" good choices would be worthy of your vote......
as long as he governed in your best interest.

  19. We don't just vote for people who produce outcomes but for people whose values and conduct best represent us. Ron's conduct has been less than honorable. Many people view his conduct as an embarassing side show. It used to be funny. It isn't any longer. When I mention the name Ron Angle to folks, the reaction of the majority of people is a roll of the eyes. I used to like him and at one point had a great deal of respect for him. That has changed over the last few years. I feel as though he has been less than truthful in his political dealings and am disappointed in his attempt to disenfranchise voters. He claims to be for fiscal conservatism yet freely uses the legal system at a large cost to the taxpayers. That in and of itself is enough. His choices demonstrate that he does not support the little guy but that he supports his own tremendous ego. He has lost the support of many loyal people whose trust he has betrayed. As a once loyal supporter I am saddened.

    ReplyDelete
  20. All I want to know is what makes this blog any different than Bernie O'Hare's? You both bring up good points and twist them so they suit your own political needs. Your political needs are to vote in people who see the Gracedale saga your way. Ron Angle saw the Gracedale saga his way and there were many people who for one reason are another voted NO. You both post things without proof to back them up. Where is the copy of the letter you promised? Where is the court docket number for these charges stemming from Bangor? I am not saying that Ron Angle is great or that what he has done in his personal life is all honorable. All I am asking is for his political views. All I know is that he wanted to sell Gracedale. I voted to keep it. Give me other reasons to vote him out. I would like to make an EDUCATED DECISION with my vote. Why should I support the democratic candidate that is running against him? What are his political views? What makes him any better than Ron Angle? Does this guy have a plan for the county and if so what is it? Does he have a campaign headquarters, website, or paperwork on his ideas? I don't even know what his name is! All I am asking for is straight forward information and neither you or Mr. O'Hare seem to be able to handle that. This is why people get fed up with the government.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Winston Smith,
First the shoplifting, car chase thing was his son not Ron Angle. Second, by your reasoning if I was a single mother raising 3 children on welfare you wouldn't give me the time of day. You would be more concerned with my life story rather than what my job proformance would be. Can I tell you to get real? Hitler did have good ideas so did the communists but Hitler was mentally ill and the communist couldn't follow through. You seem to miss my point which was Ron Angle court charges are for licensing problems and failure to remove snow. Where to you see car chases and shop lifting? Where is the money laundring? It's not there. Are you sure your not related to B.O. talking about things you have no proof of?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Northampton County Councilman Ron Angle defended himself Thursday against revelations that he pleaded guilty to reckless driving and disorderly conduct following a shoplifting arrest in 1997.
Wall Township, N.J., police Sgt. Eric Ertle confirmed the department arrested Angle in July 1997

    ReplyDelete
  23. Funny how you left out the part that said he did that 2 years before he was on the county council. This was over 10 years ago and you talk about it like it happened yesterday. Ron Angle ran for county council in 1999. This news broke in 2003. How many times has he been elected and re-elected. It didn't matter then why would it matter now? Do you feel good cause you can google?

I'm beginning to get annoyed. I don't like Ron Angle! I shouldn't have to feel like I need to defend him. Your not listening to me. Political views PLEASE! He could have a herd of elephants in his backyard and I could careless.

Can you answer this: What are his opinions on property taxes, development, business, job growth, and tourism? What is the state offering to help the area?

  24. 1:35:

The proof is in the history. Read about the councilman's legal exploits in the Morning Call's archives, then realize that this fun all occured on the backs of the taxpayers. Review the County Council meeting transcript when he lost his bid for council president...better yet watch the video if it is available. Remember the radio show? Would you want someone to hold an elected position who behaved in a derogatory fashion towards people of a different race or religion? Go to a few county council meetings yourself, the caveat being that you must realize that he is on his best behaviour due to the upcoming election. Would you want your children to emulate this behaviour? If so, then he's your guy. He does some brilliant things that are far overshadowed by his baggage, choices and behaviour.

So you knew about the car chase shoplifting thingy but played ignorant?

    ReplyDelete
  26. No. I knew about the son with the sears shoplifting thing. I didn't know about the nj shoplifting thing from 1997. In my defense, I was 16 years old in 1997 and could have cared less. High School and friends were on the top of my list then. With the information from 2:10 I looked up NJ court records and found that he was not convicted of the shoplifting but was convicted of disorderly conduct and paid a fine.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If you could get your hands on the arrest transcript it may tell you a few things. Ron wasn't in high school in 1997, he was a grown man. Responsible grown men don't make choices like that. If you are resourceful enough to look up the info that you did, then you can find the answers to your questions the same way. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 2:39,
If he use tax payer dollars to benefit himself why aren't criminal charges filed? Why isn't he under investigation? Why is he walking free? There are rules to the decorum. These rules are pretty universal with all organizations but it is up to the president to make sure the rules are followed to keep the meetings on target. It would have been up to the president of the county council or if Ron Angle was speaking when he was the president the vice president to make the "point of order" and stop Mr. Angle or anyone else who is out of line. There is an order of business and rules that need to be followed. It's how any group keeps their meeting moving.

I may be young but I am not ignorant. I think that a person running for an office should be voted in or out because of the performance of their work. Just like any job. I also think that a person running for office should know professional mannerisms. If Ron Angle was out of line then he should have been called out on it by the president at the time and that would be in the minutes of the meeting.

  31. As I said before, go to a few county council meetings yourself. Frankly, Ron was old enough to be your dad in 1997. My point was that Ron was old enough to have known better, maybe not you. Could you see your father acting like that? The way you are speaking and the way that you write makes me wonder when the batteries on your i-pad will run out.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 3:38,
No I-pad. Just a laptop, a brain, and some serious questions on the future of the area. I want to know whats going on and what I can do a a private person. Gracedale is a great place but it's not the only thing in the county that needs fixing. There is lots of wasted money. There are lots of people without work. What is the county government doing about it?

I did find some youtube videos of some council meetings. Who's incharge of these things? There's no order and they are all speaking out of turn.

    ReplyDelete
  33. What would you like to county government to do about people out of work? How much was the legal bill for the law firm to sell Gracedale...there's wasted money for ya. Oh by the way...whos campaign did they contribute to? County Council has lots o' drama...who who did you observe bringing the lions share? How long has our person of conversation been on County Council for...and these problems persist? If the council member in question were that effective, then wouldn't these problems be solved by now?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Would you like the county to create more government jobs? Should the county government start a business? Tax breaks for corporations??? Tax breaks for the rich so they can invest their money in corporations? Enforcement of our immigration laws so that employers who employ illegals hire more American workers? As a private person you are doing the right thing. Go to a council meeting yourself and bring up those points. There will always be problems. We need fewer interpersonal problems.

You will get no campaign flyer quotes in here

I think I smell 3 day old fish.
And I live nowhere near Denmark
    Tis' a fishing expedition.

And in response to the commentor citing the enforcement of the immigration laws to provide jobs to Americans
I would like for you to look into Georgias newest immigration law. They did such a great job enacting it the produce is rotting on the vine. No one to pick all those peaches. All of the 11% unemployeed in Georgia don't seem to want those jobs that opened up when the illegals were escorted home. Now the fine folk of Georgia are introducing an EXCEPTION CLAUSE. So farms are excluded. And we can probably count on adding the people who do our lawncare and wash our cars and what about the restaurant business and wait a minute I need a nanny.....LOL
Other southern states jumped on the bandwagon with their own legislation before the cows came home in Georgia.
I think a path to citizenship is the only answer. Maybe that esteemed councilman could weigh in on that issue.

    And one final thing
    The Republicans are anti abortion.....
However if you get caught sneaking over the border they want to shoot to kill.

  38. The pseudo Angle promoter is making some valid points. I doubt you don't like Angle. some of the biggest issues involving Ron Angle will be brought out in the coming campaign.

If you want a great profile on Mr. Angle just ask a former Northampton County Republican Chairman. he printed a list that was a page long.

As to personal life. there is certainly spillover at the local level. if a man bilks seniors and then talks about how his goal is to help the "little guy" and the "elderly", it should give a reasoning person pause.

On 9/11, he called the Easton Express and complained that his press conference was bumped because of the terrorist attack. Call the Express Times big boys on that one.

You are in his District, do some homework, its all there.

  40. I was at Gracedale visiting this week. I was trying to look around and see if I could see the beginnings of the leadership which Stoffa and the Council should be attempting to show after the May election results of 3 to 1.It will soon be 2 months, and I see no action at all. So,I decided to ask around. Still, no answers from anybody.
Remember when Stoffa told Cusick that he would have a new management team at Gracedale on May18?
How does this man LIE to everyone at that particular Council meeting (while it is also on video tape}and get away with it without a question?

The second statement is from the rumor mill.
Although it was also said the location of the closure would be SE 1 or 2 whichever one is open as of today.

  42. In the old days, Ron Angle was on the previous Administration every day. he claimed he was there for the "people". Now that his boy John Stoffa is the County Executive, Ron Angle looks the other way when the Administration screws up. That is but one of many reasons he will lose his re-election bid.

he calls himself the "watchdog" but his bark has become much tougher than his bite under Stoffa.

Angle is nothing more than a cheerleader. He might as well not be there. that is why District Four will toss hi m this fall.

It is a shame that County Council is ignoring the will of the people and letting Stoffa starve Gracedale to death. Not even the newspapers will write about it. Let The County Executive recall petitions begin.

  43. Sounds like a battle was won, the primary, but still lose the war, systematic closure of floors at gracedale. Cue the Bugler.

  46. The fools on County Council don't realize that Stoffa is done after this term. Marcus and the other Adminstration plants have been promised jobs, when Stoffa leaves. The County Council members will pay for the screw ups and intentional destruction of Gracedale at the polls. Stoffa and Angle are the culprits, Ross Marcus is just a stooge, the guy doesn't have a clue about Human Services.

The Express Times has carried these stooges. County Council thinks the paper will cover their asses. If they don't move to implement the will of the people, County Council will be voted out.

    ReplyDelete
  47. These folks have deceived the people before, but certain societal changes have taken place, and they have not taken these into acct.
They still cannot figure out what is going on.
Stoffa and Marcus are still giving away jobs to people who have not demonstrated that they can work with the people side of these jobs. However, these same jobs are going to them for political and/or loyalty to the duo.
Advice to the TWO DUOS: Think about the 60,s-80,s.
These are now the people who can bring about change. And change is certainly needed.

    ReplyDelete
  48. They better start doing their jobs because alot of taxpayers are now on to STOFFA'S tactics of deceit.

  49. Angle is appearing to do something? YES, posturing for the election. He is still in it thick as thieves to bring Gracedale down. If you don't think they didn't have private strategy sessions regarding this you are sadly mistaken. BTW those, if held, would be in violation of the sunshine laws. I would bet that the three of them Ohare, Stoffa, and Angle conducted these illegal meetings. Even the commentary over on Ohares blog suggests there is a plan in action. PERIOD, END OF SENTENCE.
I can't believe Angle could be successful duping people especially the people in here.
    Beware.

Just like the 18% tax increase we got because we voted to keep the place.

He knows that only one person in the COAF group uses a scooter for the handicapped.

How can this human being who says that he cares what happens to the sick and disabled at Gracedale MOCK one of Northampton County's Handicappedd citizens just to get a laugh.
This word has to get out because our County Officials should not be pandering to this person.
If he wants to have even more fun, he should then expand his article to talk about himself.
He, at least, can walk, talk, and pretty much do what he wants. Not all of our citizens are as lucky as he is.
