They only funded Gracedale for 6 months because they refused to listen.

  1. It is absolute arrogance that has prevented Stoffa from moving forward with a corrective action plan. If he was TRULY interested in reversing any problems that affect the fiscal well being of Gracedale he would have had them implemented on May 18th. He continues to drag his feet.

  2. Somehow he will meld other county bills into Gracedales. We need to ask Barron and McClure to keep us informed as to other unfunded expenditures the county has committed to for the rest of the year.

  3. Mr. Stoffa is going to propose a tax increase, and he and Mr. Angle will again attempt to blame Gracedale.

  4. Expect anything political to help Angle with his upcoming election. The friendship runs deep between John Stoffa and Ron Angle. He will stop at nothing to hold on to power.

  5. What has the Stoffa Administration done to improve the financial condition at Gracedale?
Why doesn't the county council have Granda and the head of Social Services appear before them.
Then perhaps we can ask questions and get answers that arent filtered by Stoffa and his puppet Ross Marcus!

  6. Why is Bernard O'Hare the 12th attacking Steve Barron. O'Hare once regularly praised Barron. Now Barron can do no right. What's going on here ?

  7. Maybe the question should be why social services staff, including the director, are leaving Gracedale for other positions.

  8. Where is Unclie Jimmy ?

  9. Maybe the rats are jumping ship because they know a new management team will exterminate their useless a--es!!!!! Their days of collecting pay for doing nothing are numbered.

  10. No. They are actually leaving for higher paid positions with companies that recognize their talents and respect their abilities. They were hoping for a sale and are leaving because it did not happen.

  11. Talents? Some perhaps. Abilities? Some perhaps.I have seen first hand how some of these people have let Gracedale slide into the pits. How they have let beds go unfilled. Telling applicants there are waiting lists. They may have wanted Gracedale sold for selfish reasons--to start building a second pension if one was even offered. I have seen social workers on more than one occasion enter a resident's room and not even acknowledge the resident. It's as though the resident didnt even exist. They would speak only to the family. Somewhere along the line they forgot they were supposed to be the resident's advocate. I hope Mr. Granda does well, he tried hard to make improvements but it's difficult to do a good job when your hands are tied by Stoffa and Marcus. Speaking of Marcus-he has NO idea of what goes on at Gracedale. He needs to go too.

  12. Ron Angle Sued the People's Petition(which majority of voters supported). Ron Angle yelled at citizens of the county. Ron Angle will be re-elected. Ron Angle will be at the helm as Gracedale is slowly closed down.

Are you holding anyone accountable? Gracedale isn't even in the paper anymore.

  13. If Ron Angle is at the helm IF Gracedale should fail, it's certainly not something I would brag about!!!! But of course shameful acts seems to be one of Ron Angle's Hallmarks. What a legacy he will leave.

  14. Where is Uncle Jimmy, is he still at Gracedale?

  15. Lehigh Valley live has the Gracedale management story open for discussion. As I suspected the company that said sell the place now thinks they can run it.
Stoffa doesn't see a conflict of interest?
    He is truely a doofus.
    Unbelievable
    go comment

  16. AND WHO IS ON THE COMMITTEE TO CHOOSE THE MANAGEMENT TEAM? None other than dummy Marcus and stalling Stoffa. Two of the most vocal "let's dump Gracedale" advocates. I'm confident their choice will work real hard to make Gracedale profitable- yeah when pigs fly!

  17. Gracedale's management are retiring or leaving for othwe jobs, its not their fault. Their hands have been tied by the no brainers down at the courthouse, from Stoffa on down, anything they wanted to do or improve at gracedale had to have (permission)from the courthouse, dont blame Granda he could only do what he was allowed to do..its all the idiots at the courthouse.

  18. Corruption runs deep. Stoffa's Human Resources allows county council people to participate in the pension system, against the county's constitution. Why is stoffa doing this? Why are councilmen violating the no pension rule?

  19. Annon 7:092, that is the state law. The Home Rule Charter is in violation of the law.

  20. Google-fu results http://articles.mcall.com/keyword/county-solicitor .

it appears after solicitor researching state law, a pension is optional, so what is the prevailing restriction? The county's constitution. Smells like only violation is done by councilmen? Same ones complaining about the cost of county pensions on the taxpayers?

Vote the hypocrites out and give our county true freedom from tyranny. Happy Independence Day!!!!

  21. First as a pensioner or someone participating in the plan you contribute some of your own earnings, right? The same rules apply for a county councilperson. They must contribute if they want to participate. They are subject to the same investiture rules as anyone else.

Even if someone earning the amount a councilperson earns got a pension after ten years it would be very small.

I find it hypocritical that someone defending pensions would attack another eligible person paying into a plan.

  22. HRC says you can't participate as a councilman. So once again hypocrites given power by the HRC violate the HRC to line their pockets with a taxpayer funded benefit? Geez, vote these fools out!

  23. Again, not that facts matter. State law is clear that the county was in error. When a conflict arises you must resort to the state law.

You hate all things Stoffa, yet you accept his solicitors opinion.

The Home Rule charter was poorly written and filled with political decisions without regard to the law. Buy a clue

  24. Observations:

State income tax, state unemployment tax are collected from all council members because it's STATE LAW.

Only the elitist council members volunteer to have pension money collected because it's NOT STATE LAW.

    Vote these fools out!!!!

  25. So if you feel that way, why don't you decline your pension and have the money sent to a charity. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Your blind hatred is irrational. If a council member believes in pension plans and contributes to the plan, that makes them an elitist? You realize that is the argument the teabaggers use against all public employees.

Maybe you should pick your battle cries more wisely.
