We found some interesting numbers that kind of indicate that perhaps Stoffa is the problem when it comes to losses.
As Human Services Directed he posted the following losses:
1991 - 160,712 / loss
1992 - 1,748,329 / loss
1993 - 2,410,551 / loss
1994 - 1,634,323 / loss
Total losses = 5,953,915
As County Executive, the following numbers:
2007 - 5,427,871 / took over with wheels turning forward - profit
2008 - 953,502 / notice how the wheels have slowed down - profit
2009 - 4,614,628 / the wheels are now in reverse - loss
2010 - 2,900,000 / still in reverse - loss
Total losses = 1,133,255
In 2006 he also signed away 52% of the N.C. Gaming Revenue.
So...Stoffa has has eight budgets on his watch for a total loss of $7,087,170
Whats really interesting is that from 1999 to 2006 under Executive Reibman the County enjoyed a $4,684,894 profit.
Going back a little further, from 1995 to 1998 under Executive Brackbill the County enjoyed a whopping $11,266,418.
Take note that much of the profit came from Gracedale.
Vote YES to keep Gracedale in County hands.
Spread the word - indepenents can vote too.
Should run these numbers by Gilbert. He's a financial wizard.
ReplyDeleteHe won't be able to see them because his head is too far up the ex-presidents butt.
ReplyDeleteYou are making those numbers up. You silly people just imagine there was a profit from Gracedale. You just want to keep sucking on the teat of government, because you can't do anything else for a living. Well I for one won't pay another thin dime to pay for your exorbant union lifestyles. I'll be laughing when you all leave Gracedale for the last time. We will all be standing there waving good riddance to bad rubbish.
ReplyDeleteWe thought you would say that, those numbers came off of your blog, we were just as suprised as you. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey came off bernies blog? Thanks for the data bernie!
ReplyDeleteI also would like to thank Bernie for the great job if those figures came from him.
ReplyDeleteIt just goes to show the County how we, the taxpayers, are being taken for a ride.
Perhaps, someone will face the facts and truthfully tell the real story.
Be careful of the person(S) to whom you say goodbye, for you might be surprised.
One of the menbers of COAF was handed the same paper by Mr. Stoffa himself the other night and they handed it over to channel 69.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't hear much about it., they only want the public to hear the trio's side of the story. I guess the whole thing is you scratch my back aand I'll scratch yours.
sad shape this county is in.
The numbers are accurate. Why do you think Stoffa always uses the strange figure of 23 years. Like his consultants, everything he has done has been to tailor the "facts" to fit his desire to dump Gracedale.
ReplyDeleteSimply put, from 1995 through 2010, 15 years, Gracedale has turned a 14+ million dollar profit.
The facts are clearly in favor of saving Gracedale. It is understandable that Mr. Stoffa would claim the facility will fail. Every-time Mr. Stoffa has been in charge Gracedale has lost money. In fact its greatest losses have come under his (so-called) leadership.
It has been said before and bears repeating. Save Gracedale dump Stoffa, Angle and O'Hare. Please give Northampton County back to the citizens who pay for it. Please vote in knowledgeable, competent leadership.
The county is like a rudderless ship with the three stooges all pretending to be captain.
It is sad to watch and see the fear on the face of the Nursing Home resident's faces.
Has anyone notice that since it was disclosed that the numbers came off bernies blog he has not responded again?
ReplyDeleteNorCo - these numbers are acurate. Don't be fooled. Taxes will not go up if we keep Gracedale in County hands because Angle won't allow it, with 60-90 properties he owns in NorCo he would stand to loose the most. He will fight against a tax increase vigorously, remember, it's all about him!
After May 17th, looking to November elections, it will be time to start looking at making some real changes in our County government.
Angle, Dowd, Thiery, and Gilbert all have to go. We start with Angle and Dowd in November.
I along with many other people wonder if john stoffa is competent , it appears he is not, why would anyone give 52% revenue away ? afterall it is in northampton county . along with all the losses under his administration, he along with john conklin ,angle and ohare must be investigated many a taxpayer are beginning to see the ineptness and all the shady actions going on...... i hope it gets seriously looked into.
ReplyDeleteAngle and Stoffa said there was no deficit in 2011's budget, so why don't they use a few million from the fund balance to fix Gracedale?
ReplyDeleteWait, we can't trust Gilbert?
ReplyDeleteWhen asked what the county takes in in taxes he was clueless. This new group of council members are quickly showing their weaknesses.
ReplyDeleteto 8:38pm...seriously...exhorbant union lifestyle...please. If I were in it for that I sure wouldn't have stayed for over 20 years. Beleive it or not some of us human beings actually care for other human beings. We have been there to care for those that had no one to care for them or were unable to care for themselves. I think if you educated yourself on what you think it is we receive you would state the ridiculous comments you do. Shame on you for wishing and thinking badly on those who care enough to care for others.
ReplyDeleteIn today's E.T.: http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/opinion/index.ssf/2011/05/guest_column_vote_no_on_graced.html
ReplyDeleteStoffa admits there was a $7.1 Million hole in angle's 2011 budget, filled by budget balance. Is selling Gracedale the $3 million solution to angle's $7.1 million dollar problem?
To answer your original question, in a word,"YES".
