The Morning Call Is In Denial

Can anyone explain why the morning call would post such a question the day after an election that has already convincingly expressed the wishes of The People?

"TODAY'S QUESTION: Do you agree with the voters' decision on the Gracedale nursing home referendum?"

Like at this point in time any numbers from this poll matter!

Are they really neutral, or are they really Angle/Stoffa supporters. Hmmm.

  1. The good work that you have started must continue. This was the easy part. The silent majority will also be behind you. We will be supporting your efforts, behind the scenes from many directions.

  2. Let us never forget the behaviour of some of our elected officials, who chose to continue to spend money on the sale of Gracedale, despite the fact that a referrendum movement was underway and gaining momentum. What is the county's legal bill to date? Is it not in excess of $100,000.00? Why did they simply not choose to freeze all legal expenditures related to the sale of Gracedale until the referrendum was voted upon? Our elected officials have chosen to gamble on a legal victory, with our money...and we lost. Remember in November.

  3. I guess they (the Morning Call) want to engage the people who did not perform their civic duty, by getting out to vote. Now however, it is a moot point. I'm sure Bill White will weigh in as a Monday morning quaterback.
I saw Angle on WFMZ last night, he looked catatonic. He is in campaign mode, saying he all along wanted to "try" to save the place, while out of the other side of his amply jowled face, he is sternly threatening the voters with tax increases. He continues to make threats to the unions about a mandatory 6 million giveback of "his" money. He continues to attempt to hoard the taxpayers money as his own, this money should not have been allowed to reach that staggeringly high amount to begin with. That emormous figure represents our overtaxation. Although I agree the unions need to step up, become proactive, be part of the solution and show the voters that they appreciate their support. I ALSO do think, THAT IT IS TIME TO STOP THE THREATENING SCARE TACTIC ATTITUDES. IT IS TIME TO SIT DOWN AND HONESTLY FIGURE THIS THING OUT. IT IS TIME TO STOP THE SHENANIGANS. IT IS TIME TO ENGAGE THE RANK AND FILE MEMBERS AND ALLOW THEM TO CHAMPION THEIR OWN GIVE BACKS. IT IS TIME TO DISPESE WITH THE PETTIFOG ARGUMENTS THAT CLOUD THE ISSUE. I think everyone would be suprised to learn that the "goons" are not really "goons" that they too care about their community and are willing to sacrifice for the good of all concerned.

  4. This Union Member agrees with Winston Smith and feels all those who's salary is paid by the tax-payer should step up.

  5. The law firm hired by the county to sell Gracedale has so far billed the county taxpayers $163,352.13. This amount includes fees submitted for law suits with Bernie O'Hare and a law suit by stoffa regarding the home and Ron Angle against the petition collectors rule charter. They also billed for advice given to O'Hare for his appeal The fees for Stoffa's appeal will be in March's bill which we do not have yet.

  7. Both the Morning Call and the Easton Express are still collaborating with the Stoffa regimes failed effort to dump Gracedale. It is very sad that papers supposedly there to report the news would rather ignore the news and cover for a very poor policy decision by John Stoffa.

I predict that both Angle and Stoffa will continue to find ways to sabotage Gracedale and the will of the people. They will do it with the blessing of the local press.

We must keep the thousands of citizens who voiced their concern informed. Remember, if necessary, we will get a recall petition circulated to relieve Mr. Stoffa of his position if he ignores the clear and convincing will of the people. This Novemeber we must make sure Mr. Angle is defeated in his re-election bid.

The battle was won but the war is far from over. The people are opposed by powerful adversaries in government who are aided and abetted by the Press. We have few allies in this battle. But they are out there and they will continue to help.

    God Bless the Guardians
