  1. Please make sure everybody knows that a Yes vote keeps Gracedale county owned for 5 years.

  2. Do not mention unions. We know this is about Gracedale and the residents. some out there are trying to gin up anti-union resentment as a cover to sell Gracedale.

While sad, it is how these people operate. Do not underestimate the underhanded nature of Angle, Stoffa and O'Hare.

  3. Although I was never a suppoter of unions in their current state. I have come realize they are not as bad as people would have you believe. I am being swayed by the outragous behavior by the Republican Party in Wisconsin and other states. Particularly Wisconsin where they made the mistake of trying to cloud the balanced budget issue with the elimination of the collective barganing process. They further indicted themselves by not including all Wisconsin unions, just those who didn't support the Governors election bid. That said the people of Wisconsin have realized they were snookered into voting the GOP back into power on November 4th. The people Wisconsin which have a history of successful recalls is mounting a massive recall effort for all GOP newly elected officials. The Governor will get a one year in office reprieve due to Wisconsin recall laws , then he will enjoy a recall himself.
Locally there are communities that have asked FOR a tax hike in efforts to save teachers jobs. I think anyone with morals and are decent rich or poor in Northampton County will vote YES to keep Gracedale in County hands.
This is a nationwide trend, which I attribute to people seeing their fellow citizens hurting in these economically troubled times, and saying to themselves, ENOUGH, we can find another way to balance budgets without cutting employees or levels of service. WE don't mind a tax increase for certain services. They feel they can have some control of this process even though they might have been dealt a financial blow themselves.
Some on the County Council as their nationwide counterparts are behind the curve. They will suffer in the voting booth due to their support of cuts and their suggestion of cutting and eliminating social programs.
You need to give the rightwing media spin machine credit they were successful in duping the voters into thinking they would perform in their best interests. I wonder if by keeping Gracedale and then NOT FUNDING it properly or downsizing, the County Council would expect to be rewarded with re-election?
A always in the dark, uniformed poster on another blog suggested we go to Wisconsin and see what is going on there, not knowing the current situation is that the tide has turned, the poster is behind the curve. Not keeping up with current events. What the uninformed poster didn't realize is that the people of Wisconsin will dump these pariahs not enshrine them.

Good luck to you all on Tuesday
