Next week...Monday, 4 p.m. Location: County Courthouse in Easton.
The specific purpose of the meeting on Monday is to re-structure County Council...meaning, selecting and electing the officers that will handle the helm this year.
We take this opportunity to say to all of NorCo, while indeed there is work yet to be done, "We The People" got it right last election.
We elected three newcomers, Bob Werner, Ken Kraft, and Scott Parsons, as well as one incumbent Lamont McClure - which as we have witnessed; did make a difference. How so? Well for starters, 2012 was a year in which we finally witnessed some forward movement. However, we must comprehend that in 2013 there continues to exist a negative force attempting to throw the lever into reverse. We all know that force (of course) is County Executive John Stoffa.
As an engaged People, we must continue our involvement to prevent the ship from stalling, or worst yet, from reversing it's course.
As a uniting commUNITY, we understand the importance of continuing our involvement, in particular with the upcoming election. We have a truly great opportunity to continue (by the power of our vote) to mold County Council, and equally important - the County Executive seat, into a well tuned engine that can take NorCo into the future.
We will continue to wait patiently relating to the recently disclosed truth that County Executive John Stoffa deceived his electors and his financial supporters (taxpayers), as related to the mis-use of tax dollars to fund private litigation. We anticipate County Council will take a corrective action to insure this sort of covert behavior never occurs again. As well as denounce the (in our opinion) illegal act, placing it in the hands of the proper investigative authorities for resolution.
