Win-Win?

Yes...Why can't we all seek first to understand, and then to be understood?

Well, We The People did literally implore the CC on more than one occasion, however, that was observed as a sign of weakness which of course turned out to be an enormous mistake for every member of CC who was incapable of constructing in their closed minds an image of the true will of The people. It turned out to be a gigantic error.

COAF was not seeking then, is not seeking now, nor ever has sought a fight -- but we do suggest that no government official should ever confuse our gentleness for meekness, for every sleeping bear will some day awaken. Please make no mistake about it Mr. Stoffa, We The People are prepared to fight to the Supreme court of the United States of our great America if pushed to that point. We have asked you and CC repeatedly not to test our resolve, but as a norm most of you have refused to listen, and that sir is why we are where we are.

The ex-chair has already expressed publicly that he is willing to accept the referendum, so why aren't you willing to do the same Mr. Stoffa? Is it possible that the ex-chair is still manipulating you behind the scenes, as well as that other person? Or, are you really acting on your own? Indeed, any reasonably intelligent person understands that there is no rational rhyme or reason for this game to be played, other than a belligerent attempt at total domination by a few.

Northampton County does not have to be the object of absolutism, so why is it? Conceivably because we have a few public servants in our local government that believe in autocracy, presenting an illusion of democracy. In so doing they are openly considering their populace dimwits, fools, and boneheads. Well, what most although not all have come to discovered is that The people are not as imbecile as they thought.

Mr. Stoffa for example, was not competent enough to envision that We The People would actually acquire the the high number of 19,631 valid names necessary for a referendum, so he encouraged us to do so. It is clear today that no one except the dedicated COAF members believed that it could be done. But instead COAF was so determined, or to use Mr. Stoffa's word, "hellbent" enough to collect more than they required - 23,391 to be exact. That caused Stoffa to scrambled like a chicken without a head. Unfortunately for Mr. Stoffa, as well as others we're sure, they were aroused to the understanding that the impossible had not just become possible...but reality. Stress and anxiety in all probability set in causing the unbelievers to pinch themselves to ascertain if they were in fact dreaming, experiencing a nightmare for certain, because The People had in fact accomplished the unthinkable...oh yes we did.

This could have been and still can be a Win-Win scenario. All that CC and Mr. Stoffa have to do is accept the will of The People. Mr. Stoffa, at your earliest opportunity commence the process,  so that you won't leave office with the worst possible legacy of any politician in the history of NorCo...ever.

And remember this CC and Mr. Stoffa, some people live history, while others make it.

  1. Funny quote in the Call this morning. Rev. Dowd claims to support the right of the people to vote on the future of Gracedale, but he "understands" why Stoffa is appealing the Judge's decision. What color are the robes that Dowd wears when he is preaching ?

  2. DOWD WITH ANGLE SHOULD BOTH BE VOTED OUT DURRING ELECTION TIME. HOW CAN A MAN OF GOD LIE LIKE HIM. I'VE BEEN AT COUNCIL MEETINGS AND HEARD HIS LIES.IF HE WAS ATRUE MAN OF GOD HE WOULD NOT WANT TO SELL THE OLD PEOPLE OUT. AND NOW STOFFA SAY'S HE'LL CLOSE GRACEDALE DOWN. I HOPE WHEN HE RETIRES SOMEONE TELL'S HIM THEY ARE THROWING HIM OUT OF HIS FARM AND CLOSING IT DOWN.MY GRANDMOTHER IS IN GRACEDALE AND CAN STILL READ AND WATCH'S TV. WHEN I WENT TO VIST HER THE OTHER DAY SHE CRIED TO ME WHERE WOULD SHE GO IF THEY DO WHAT THE BIG BAD STOFFA SAYS AND CLOSE US DOWN.WHO THE HELL DOES HE THINK HE IS. THIS IS AMERICA.NOT A DICTATOR COUNTRY.

  5. That law is meant to make it look as if they want to do something positive about Gracedale in the event the appeals court doesn't agree with them. They sell it in a minute if they could.

  6. From what I have witnessed with our County Council is that there really is a bi-partisan group who have begun to understand that this is a moral and ethical situation. It is not that they are not concerned for the taxpayer, but they are willing to try to find a way to LEARN whether or not Gracedale can become solvent within a few years. If not, then I believe that everyone would agree with the sale.
I believe that with the changes that this bi-partisan group wants to implement, Gracedale would cease to be a financial liability.
Messrs: Cusick,McClure, Dietrich and Mrs. Ferraro,Mrs. McCale are, in my opinion ,making every effort to attempt to reach a reasonable decision to give our elderly the same chance which our County Exec wants to do with our prisoners.
However, Mr. Dowd, who would not even take a stand to support Mrs. Ferraro when she was obcenely attacked by Mr. Angle, does anyone believe that he really cares to "stand up and be counted?"
Mr. Gilbert: Does anyone really know what he is saying except for," I agree with you, Mr. Angle."
Mrs. Thierry: She seems like a nice lady.
Mr. Angle: He threw Mr. Stoffa under the bus with or without a Gentlemen's Agreement. If it means HIS future career,he'll vote anyway that he has to.
He's angry currently because a group of concerned citizens who stood up to his rantings
cannot be controlled by him.Absolute control turns him on.
From my point of view,I would hope that the Rev. Mr. Dowd return his thinking to consider the flock and at least give the people a voice.
No one really knows how the County taxpayers feel about the sale of Gracedale. Only the ballot, where each of us has the right to vote in private without intimidation, will truly tell us all the true answer.

  7. I see B.O. is in the E.T. telling lies. Why would a reputable newspaper print the ramblings, pun intended, of a known forger ?

  8. People of Northampton County BEWARE! It's nearing election time. Now the politicians are concerned about getting re-elected. They fear the more than 23,000 voters that want to be heard about Gracedale. Remember Angle and Dowd have been for selling Gracedale from the start. Why the sudden change in their attitude? We know why--THEY WANT TO GET RE-ELECTED.
Stoffa, any respect we had left for you is gone. How can you respect anyone who would cause vunerable elderly people undue stress.
Many residents of Gracedale read the paper and watch TV. How heartless of you to say you would close their home. What were you thinking--or weren't you?

  9. As a COAF member, I have a friend who believes that something, whether it be a complete managerial and structural change or sale has to take place at Gracedale. He decided to follow everything that he could on this subject and then discuss it with his "political" friends. He always seemed to be leaning toward sale because of his personal party line politics.
However, yesterday he and his buddies have changed their minds. So, I asked him why:
a.The group cannot comprehend why the ballot question seems to be so very bad in this County.
    b. From the beginning both Angle and Stoffa highlighted that ALL the residents would not be MOVED or have their lives interrupted in any way. In fact, a private company could operate Gracedale better according to them.
    c. Stoffa's scathing remarks in the newspaper about closing Gracedale or scaling back contradicted everything that both he and Angle had been tooting for months.
d Now, all the residents at Gracedale know that if Stoffa has his way that they could be moved all over the County and perhaps even out of the County.
    e. Now,this group has decided that not only was the ballot idea dubious in some way,but now we have the County Exec. lying. He is,indeed, now scaring residents by saying what he will do now which is different from a month or more ago.
    f. The group also could not believe that Angle and Stoffa would want to use taxpayers'money to file suit for only 3 possible reasons: absolute power, egomania, or something which no one seems to to able to figure out.
    g. Even the Council is beginning to see and understand-except for a few- that some movement to work with the people would be an effective idea before making a rash decision. It now seems obvious that the intelligent council members can now see that to save MONEY that they should do something to get the people involved with this question.
    h. Who ever heard of suing the taxpayers with their own money to prevent a democratic event from taking place.
    i. With all this said, an alleged increase in taxes(which has changed many times since August) CANNOT be the only reason for this complete waste of money and the attempt to block the most vital aspect of our democracy-THE RIGHT TO VOTE.
